At the corner of Queensbridge St and City Rd, across from the Boyd Community Hub, a new kind of building is emerging in Southbank.

With an architectural style inspired by the enduring icons of the New York City skyline, The Queensbridge Building aims to bridge the gap between city and neighbourhood to create a home for long-term locals, new residents, and experience investors.

Delivered by Time & Place and Hickory, the location has been a popular spot for locals with the iconic Underpark, an urban park created by the development team in consultation with the City of Melbourne, featuring monumental artwork by indigenous artist Reko Rennie.

Now the full tower is set to take shape, with construction commencing this month. Designed by local architecture practice Elenberg Fraser and interiors by star designer David Flack of Flack Studio, The Queensbridge Building has been curated to create an authentic feeling of home within one of the great urban neighbourhoods of Australia.

A striking tower of art-deco elegance and old-world romance, The Queensbridge Building emerges from a textured platform of stone and rock that gives way to a contemporary edifice of bronze and glass.

The architecture is a true meeting of old and new, enriched with a bronze patina that shimmers in the morning and afternoon light.

Throughout the tower you will also notice that every space feels like it has been delicately designed and crafted, that each has its own mood and feeling. That is intentional. Queensbridge has been designed to feel, in its truest sense, like a beautiful, modern Australasian home balancing rough cut stone, swathes of cool concrete, lush urban greenery, rich woods, abundant natural light and cosy furniture.

The interior effect at Queensbridge is one of timeless quality, nostalgia and comfort.

Walking distance to both the centre of the CBD and South Melbourne’s neighbourhood heart, nearby the wonderful and eclectic South Melbourne Market, The Queensbridge Building draws from and gives back to these vibrant places, with an activated street front offering destination dining and the multi-level, multi-layered Queensbridge Clubhouse.

As a resident or investor, you’ll get an all-access membership to The Clubhouse. With its workspaces, dining rooms, lap pool, spa, cinema rooms, izakaya, bar, and garden terraces, it’s everything a neighbourhood needs wrapped up into a contemporary urban retreat.

Southbank has been waiting for a neighbourhood building, and it’s finally here.

With apartments from $530,000, one-, two- and three-bedroom residences are now selling with damp duty savings until June 30.  •
